Transgender 101: An introductory training for community based organizations
During this training you will get a basic understanding what the “T” stands for when we talk about the “LGBTQ” community. You will learn basic tips on how to make your community safer for all people. Specifically, you will learn:vocabulary and common terms/ trans-friendly terminology; difference between gender identity and sexual orientation; trans-specific health concerns; Tips! On how to make your community based organization more trans-friendly.
HISPANIC WOMEN WEB TRAINING
Hispanic Women and HIV/AIDS: The contributing issues is a one hour web based training. The training focuses on three main issues that make certain Latinas a greater risk of acquiring HIV/AIDS. The issues discussed are: Socio-Economic and Cultural Issues, Substance Abuse, and Domestic Violence. This training was a joint effort by Edme Pernia, Executive Director of Miami AIDS Project, Angela Diaz-Vidaillet, CEO, Victim Response, Inc. – The Lodge, and Esther Tellechea, Executive Director, Hispanic AIDS Awareness Program. 55 minutes
